<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />Callforma <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2009-18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />REPEALING RESOLUTION 2007-11 AND ADOPTING RESOLUTION 2009-18 <br />ESTABLISHING PREVAILING WAGES UNDER ARTICLE 2, SECTION 200 OF THE <br />TOWN CHARTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Truckee adopted a Charter for Its mUnicipal government, and <br />said Charter allows for the establishment of local terms and conditions concerning public works <br />contracting and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee recognizes that establishment of minimum wages for <br />public works contracting referred to as prevailing wage IS one of said terms and conditions, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee recognizes that the prevailing wage as established by <br />the California Department of labor does not necessanly represent the prevailing wage of the <br />Truckee Community and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town has conducted a survey of contractors who currently are or who <br />recently have performed work In the Tahoe Truckee Area and determined that the average <br />wages being paid by said contractors are as shown In attached Exhibit 1 These wages <br />represent "BasIc Hourly Rates" and do not Include health and welfare pension vacatIOn <br />holiday training or other benefits On average the "BasIc Hourly Rate" of said survey <br />represents 82% of the "BasIc Hourly Rate' for Nevada County as published by the State of <br />California Department of Industnal Relations of the California Department of labor for the same <br />time penod that the Town wage survey was conducted and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee recognizes Public Works projects funded through local <br />funds to be of local mUnicipal concern <br /> <br />. * * . . . <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF <br />TRUCKEE, that the Town hereby determines that prevailing wage for locally funded projects be <br />set at the wage rates presented In attached Exhibit 1 For any crafts that are not contained In <br />Exhibit 1 Town prevailing wage shall be set at 83% of the "BasIc Hourly Rate" for Nevada <br />County for the appropnate Craft and Group established In the most recent general prevailing <br />wage deterrmnatlon made by the director of Industnal relations for the State of California All <br />health welfare pension vacation holiday, training, and other benefits shall be as established <br />between the contractor and their employees through the contractors labor negotiation process <br />and no minimum benefits package IS be established by this resolution <br />
