TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> California <br /> ORDINANCE 2017-13 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> ADDING SECTION 15.02.090 TO THE TRUCKEE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> PERTAINING TO PERMITTING PROCEDURES FOR <br /> ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING SYSTEMS <br /> WHEREAS, Section 65850.7 of the California Government Code provides that it is the <br /> policy of the State to promote and encourage the installation and use of electric vehicle charging <br /> systems by limiting obstacles to their use and by minimizing the permitting costs of such <br /> systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 65850.7 of the California Government Code requires every city and <br /> county in California to adopt an ordinance that creates an expedited, streamlined permitting <br /> process for electric vehicle charging stations while promoting public health and safety and <br /> preventing specific adverse impacts in the installation and use of such charging stations; <br /> The Town Council of the Town of Truckee Does Ordain as Follows: <br /> Section 1. Enactment. Chapter 15.02 of Truckee Municipal Code is hereby amended <br /> by adding a new Section 15.02.090 to read as follows: <br /> 15.02.090 Expediting Permitting Process for Electric Vehicle Charging Systems <br /> A. The intent of this section is to comply with the requirements of Government Code <br /> Section 65850.7 to promote and encourage the use of electric vehicles by creating an <br /> expedited, streamlined permitting process for electric vehicle charging stations while <br /> promoting public health and safety and preventing specific adverse impacts in the <br /> installation and use of such charging stations. <br /> B. The following words and phrases as used in this section are defined as follows: <br /> "Electronic submittal" means a submittal made by email, the Internet, and/or <br /> facsimile. <br /> "Electric vehicle charging station" or"charging station" means any level of electric <br /> vehicle supply equipment station that is designed and built in compliance with <br /> Article 625 of the California Electrical Code, as it reads on the effective date of <br /> the ordinance adopting this section, and delivers electricity from a source outside ' <br /> an electric vehicle into a plug-in electric vehicle. <br /> 1 <br />
