TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> California <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 9542 <br /> <br />AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE ADDING CHAPTER 3.13 <br /> (PREVAIl,lNG WAGE) TO THE TRUCKEE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br />The Town Council of the Town of Truckee Does Ordain as Follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Enactment. Title 3 of the Truckee Municipal Code is hereby amended as <br />designated in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Summary_ Publication and Posting. Within thirty (30) days after adoption <br />of this Urgency Ordinance, the Town Clerk shall have a summary of the ordinance prepared by the <br />Town Attorney and published as required. Within fifteen (15) days after adoption of this Ordinance, <br />the Town Clerk shall have it posted in the three (3) public places designated by Resolution of the <br />Council. <br /> <br /> Section 3. !2rg~c2L~a~. It is essential to the public peace, health, and safety that this <br />Ordinance take effect immediately following second reading. The facts constituting the urgency are <br />as follows: <br /> <br />On June 6, 1995, the voters of the Town of Truckee enacted a Town Charter which <br />specifically provided authority to the Town to set its own prevailing wages on <br />municipal projects. Certain critical street improvement and traffic safety projects <br />will be delayed to the detriment of the Town and its citizens unless these voter <br />approved measures can be utilized during the 1995 construction season. Therefore, <br />the Town Council f'mds and determines that an urgency declaration is appropriate and <br />necessary. <br /> <br /> The foregoing Urgency Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the Town Council of <br />the Town of Truckee, held on the 20th day of July, 1995, by Council Member McCormack, who <br />moved its introduction, which motion was seconded by Council Member Drake, was upon roll call <br />carried by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Council Members Drake, Eagan, McCormack & Vice Mayor Carpenter <br /> <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />ABSENT: Mayor Cross <br /> <br />Step~ffen L. W~right, Town~2~h~l~ <br /> <br />Steve A. Carpenter, Vtce Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
