CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Wallace Dee called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> 2. ROLL CALL: Council Members; Green, Brown, deRyk Jones, Vice Mayor Anderson, and <br /> Mayor Wallace Dee. <br /> Staff Present: Town Attorney Crabb, Records Technician Kuhlemier, Town Manager <br /> Lashbrook, Community Development Director McLaughlin, Town Clerk Price, Administrative <br /> Services Director Szczurek, and Public Works Director/Town Engineer Wilkins. <br /> 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — led by Chief Keller. <br /> 4. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> 6:01:49 PM <br /> Jody Sweet, Truckee resident: <br /> • Stated his father had received a letter from Truckee Donner Public Utility District <br /> (TDPUD) regarding street lights. <br /> o He summarized a letter ( letter to be provided to Town Manager Lashbrook by <br /> Monday, February 22, 2010). <br /> • Requested the Town work with the TDPUD regarding existing street lighting. <br /> • Stated he believed an agreement might exist with Nevada County regarding the street <br /> lighting. <br /> o Stated this is a public safety item. <br /> • Mr. Holley requested Mr. Sweet talk with the Town. <br /> • Stated the lights are mounted on TDPUD poles, and were paid by tax payers. <br /> Town Manger Lashbrook responded: <br /> • The Town is aware of the removal of existing street lighting by the TDPUD. <br /> • This was not an incorporation item because the neighborhood lighting has always been <br /> in the jurisdiction of the TDPUD. <br /> • The issue is between the TDPUD and their customers. <br /> • The Town's requirement on "street lighting" is directed to arterial to arterial intersections, <br /> connections, and roundabouts. <br /> o The Town installs and maintains those specific lights. <br /> • The largest subdivisions in the Town do not have streetlights. <br /> o Some older neighborhoods have neighborhood lighting. <br /> • Stated the TDPUD board is publicly elected board. <br /> • Mr. Lashbrook offered to go over the Town incorporation documents if Mr. Sweet <br /> desires. <br /> Council Member Green stated: <br /> • She had personally talked with Mr. Holley from the TDPUD. <br /> Town of Truckee <br /> Regular Town Council Meeting <br /> Page 1 <br />
