Presentation will be given by Ken Daley, General
Manager, Area Transit Management. Mr. Daley stated ATM had been operating the transit system
in Truckee for 1 ½ years. They were a locally owned and operated business with 20-25 employees.
Northstar had been a significant partner with ridership and funding as well as local businesses,
Truckee Tahoe Airport, and TNT/TMA. They were currently negotiating with Greyhound to reopen
the station at the depot with ATM acting as the ticketing agent. He then reviewed the ridership totals
for Truckee Dial-A-Ride and Truckee Trolley, as well as farebox recovery. They had also worked
with Crystal Bay and Tahoe Biltmore last year and would do so again this year. Those services were
fully funded by the two businesses. Beginning January 20th they would be initiating a Boomtown
shuttle. The Reno Airport, TRPA and LSC had completed a study regarding the Reno Airport and
would be trying to coordinate all transit under one dispatcher. ATM was also working on an
operating plan for services to Tahoe City next year.

Councilmember Schneider noted that the ridership from December to August was three times the
ridership for the rest of the year but had a lower farebox. Mr. Daley replied that Northstar
employees comprised a large portion of the ridership and that they rode free due to Northstar's
sponsorship.

Councilmember Schneider questioned if the Boomtown shuttle would stop in Truckee. Mr. Daley
replied that the depot would be the transfer point.

Councilmember Drake questioned if the fareboxes had leveled off. Mr. Daley responded that as they
tweaked the system to accommodate ridership it had a tendency to increase.

Councilmember Susman felt ATM was providing a great service. He questioned if it was working
out well for ATM. Mr. Daley stated they were very happy in Truckee and their move to the Airport
had allowed them to expand their charter service. Truckee was the centerpiece and they would
continue to expand and provide service to other areas.
