Town of Truckee <br />TOWN COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br /> February 6, 1997, 5:00 P.M. <br />Truckee Donner Public Utility District Board Room <br />11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA <br /> <br />The Town Council met in Closed Session from 5:00 p.m. to 5:38 p.m. with all members present to <br />discuss: litigation against Nevada County pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9 and Bond <br />vs the Town of Truckee and related cases pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9. Mayor <br />Drake announced that no reportable actions were taken in Closed Session. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Drake called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: <br /> <br />Council Members Carpenter, Florian, McCormack, Susman, and Mayor <br />Drake <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Tony Lashbrook, Community Development Director; Dennis Crabb, Town <br />Attorney; and Vicki Soderquist, Deputy Town Clerk <br /> <br />3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Cub Scout Group - Den 7. <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />5.1 Oath of Office - Nancy Richards, Planning Commissioner. The Oath of Office was <br /> administered by the Deputy Town Clerk to Nancy Richards, Planning Commissioner. <br /> <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Susman, Seconded by Councilmember Carpenter, passed <br />unanimously to approve the Consent Calendar with Item 6.2 pulled by Councilmember <br />McCormack. <br /> <br />6.1 Minutes of January 16, 1997 - Regular Meeting. Recommendation: approve. <br /> <br />6.2 <br /> <br />1996/97 Financial Report for the Period Ending December 31, 1996. Recommendation: <br />Council accept and file the Financial Report for the period ending December 3 l, 1996. <br />Pulled from the Consent Calendar. Councilmember McCormack felt the report contained <br />the right degree of analysis of the actual versus budgeted expenditures. He questioned if the <br />court fines had decreased due to the level of enforcement or a decrease in citations. Jill <br />Olsen, Finance Director, replied that there was a discrepancy between the number of <br />citations issued and the dollar amounts being transmitted to the Town by the County. The <br />number of citations for the same period were only down by ten. The level of enforcement <br />continued to remain high. Staffwas investigating what those discrepancies might be as <br />supporting documentation was not submitted to the Town with the checks. <br /> <br />Councilmember Florian referred to Sales Tax and questioned if the deficit was alarming. <br />Ms. Olsen stated that it was normal for this time &year. The State estimated the sales taxes <br /> <br /> <br />
