Town of Truckee <br /> TOWN COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />o <br /> <br /> March 19, 1998, 6:00 P.M. <br />Truckee Donner Public Utility District Board Room <br />11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Florian called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />Council Members Drake, McCormack, Schneider, Susman, and Mayor <br />Florian <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Stephen L. Wright, Town Manager; J. Dennis Crabb, Town Attorney; and <br />Vicki Soderquist, Deputy Town Clerk <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Kathleen Eagan. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />4.1 Kathleen Eagan, Ex-Councilmember and the Town's representative on the Truckee <br />River Operating Agreement (TROA), reminded the community and Council of the public <br />workshop to be held on Tuesday, March 24th, 7:00-9:00 p.m. She had been involved in negotiations <br />since the Town began and negotiations were held three years prior to the Town's incorporation. The <br />plan was for the future operations of the river system and for delivering water down stream. The <br />workshop was being held to inform the public and local agencies on what TROA was, how to <br />respond to the EIR, and what the agreement would mean to the community. She encouraged all <br />Councilmembers and members of the public to attend and show their interest in the issues. <br /> <br />Mayor Florian questioned the agencies involved. Ms. Eagan replied that the local group was the <br />Truckee River Basin Water Group which included the Town of Truckee, Nevada County, Placer <br />County Water Agency, Sierra County, US Forest Service, all water purveyors in area, and interested <br />individuals. The five main signatories involved in the negotiations were the states of California and <br />Nevada, Department of the Interior, Paiute Tribe, and Sierra Pacific Power Company. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS - None <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR (One motion approves all of the following actions.) <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember McCormack, Seconded by Councilmember Susman, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar, passed unanimously with Item 6.2 pulled from the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />6.1 <br />6.2 <br /> <br />Minutes of March 3, 1998 Special Meeting. Recommendation: Council approve. <br />Minutes of March 3, 1998 Special Joint Council/Planning Commission Meeting. <br />Recommendation: Council approve. Pulled from the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />Councilmember Susman stated the first workshop on creating a public process for upcoming land <br />use and other community issues was held on March 3rd and would be revisited on April 2nd. He <br />invited members of the community to become involved and be a part of the process of developing <br />the land use decisions. <br /> <br /> <br />
