Town of Truckee <br /> TOWN COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br /> April 16, 1998, 6:00 P.M. <br />Truckee Donner Public Utility District Board Room <br />11570 Dormer Pass Road, Truckee, CA <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Florian called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />Council Members Drake, McCormack, Schneider, Susman, and Mayor <br />Florian <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Stephen L. Wright, Town Manager; J. Dennis Crabb, Town Attorney; and <br />Vicki Soderquist, Deputy Town Clerk <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Barbara Green. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />4.1 Barbara Green, Nevada County Planning Commissioner, informed the Council that <br />Nevada County Supervisors Dardick and VanSant would be sponsoring a Rural Design Symposium <br />on April 22nd in Grass Valley and invited everyone to attend. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />5.1 Proclamation Declaring May 1998 as Windows on History Month. The proclamation <br />was presented by Mayor Florian to Elaine Barkdull representing the Truckee Donner Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember McCormack, Seconded by Councilmember Drake to approve the <br />proclamation, approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Barkdull stated she had been informed by staff that the Chamber needed to have the Council <br />declare Windows on History as a community event and, by doing so, would waive the event fees and <br />grant their sign request. The Chamber had supplied staff with the design of the banner and the <br />benefits to the community. Mr. Wright stated that staffrecommended that the Council find that the <br />Windows on History program was a community event and approve the banners for a period beyond <br />the 21 days. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Drake, Seconded by Councilmember Schneider, to extend the <br />period for placement of banners for the "Windows on History" program beyond the 21 day <br />limit. <br /> <br />Mayor Florian questioned if the motion should include a waiver of the fees. Mr. Wright responded <br />that if it was approved as a community event it would include the waiver of the fees. <br /> <br />Vote on Motion: approved unanimously. <br /> <br />5.2 Presentation by Representatives of the Public Works Department on the Town's <br />Hazardous Materials Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
