Town of Truckee <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 93-09 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />CREATING THE POSITION OF TOWN MANAGER <br /> <br />The Town Council of the Town of Truckee Does Ordain as Follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Position Created. The position of Town Manager of the Town of Truckee is <br />hereby created, as directed by Resolution 92-06 of the Nevada County Local Agency Formation <br />Commission and pursuant to Government Code Section 34851. The Town Manager shall be <br />appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Town Council. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Oualifications. The Town Manager shall be appointed wholly on the basis of <br />his or her administrative ability. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Residence. Although it is desirable that the person who is appointed Town <br />Manager establish residence within the Town within a reasonable time, such residence shall not be <br />a condition of employment. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Acting Town Manager. The Town Manager shall recommend for Council <br />approval one of the employees of the Town to serve as Acting Town Manager during any temporary <br />absence or disability of the Town Manager. In the case of the absence or disability of the Town <br />Manager and his or her failure to choose an Acting Town Manager, the Town Council may either <br />appoint a Town employee as Acting Town manager to perform the duties of the Town Manager <br />during the absence or disability of the Town Manager or obtain the services of someone who is not <br />an employee. <br /> <br /> Section 5. Compensation. The Town Manager shall receive such compensation as the Town <br />Council shall fi:om time to time deter-mine. In addition, the Town Manager shall be reimbursed for <br />all actual and necessary expenses incurred in the perfomtance of official duties with the approval of <br />the Council. <br /> <br /> Section 6. Powers and Duties. The Town Manager shall be the administrative head of the <br />Town government under the direction and control of the Town Council. He or she shall be <br />responsible for the efficient administration of the affairs of the Town. In addition to the general <br />powers as administrative head and not as a limitation thereon, the Town Manager shall have the <br />duties and powers set forth in the following subsections: <br /> <br /> <br />
