TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> California <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2003-17 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> CERTIFYING THE FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT <br /> FOR THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee is considering the approval and implementation <br />of the Truckee Historic Preservation Program, also hereinafter referred to as "Project", <br />which would affect the Historic Preservation District as designated in the Downtown <br />Truckee Specific Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee has determined that the proposed Truckee <br />Historic Preservation Program is a project as defined under the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, and is not exempt <br />either categorically or statutorily; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee has determined that an Environmental Impact <br />Report (EIR) shall be prepared for the Truckee Historic Preservation Program in order <br />to satisfy the requirements of CEQA, in accordance with State CEQA Guidelines <br />Section 15060(d); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee, in accordance with CEQA, issued a Notice of <br />Preparation on February 19, 2002 stating than an EIR for the Truckee Historic <br />Preservation Program would be prepared and inviting comments from State responsible <br />and trustee agencies, other public agencies and interested organizations, and filed the <br />Notice of Preparation with the State Clearinghouse; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee contracted with Pacific Municipal Consultants, <br />a private consulting firm, to prepare the Draft and Final EIR for the Truckee Historic <br />Preservation Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after completion of the Draft EIR, the Town of Truckee issued a <br />Notice of Completion, along with copies of the Draft EIR, to the State Clearinghouse to <br />begin the review period for interested State and Federal agencies; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town provided a 45-day public review period, affording the <br />public and State and local agencies the opportunity to review the Draft EIR and <br />published a legal notice in the Sierra Sun providing public notice of the availability of the <br />Draft EIR; and <br /> <br /> <br />
