TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> California <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2003-18 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> ADOPTING THE TRUCKEE HISTORIC RESOURCES AND ARCHITECTURAL <br /> INVENTORY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a survey of historic resources in the Downtown area is an integral <br />part of the Historic Preservation Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee hired Kautz Environmental Consultants, a <br />consulting firm specially qualified to prepare historic surveys, to survey all buildings and <br />structures in the Downtown area that are older than 50 years and prepare a historic and <br />architectural resources inventory of these buildings and structures; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the inventory was prepared pursuant to previous direction provided <br />by the Council and in accordance with procedures and criteria established by the <br />California Office of Historic Preservation and National Register of Historic Places <br />program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on several occasions the Town Council notified the community and <br />each downtown property owner of the surveys and the preparation of the inventory and <br />provided the opportunity for the public and downtown property owners to participate in <br />the survey and inventory process including the opportunity to provide information and <br />comments on the surveys and the recommendations of the inventory; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a steering committee appointed by the Council and consisting of the <br />Historic Preservation Advisory Commission and representatives from the Council, <br />Planning Commission, and Downtown Merchants Association, assisted the consultant <br />and Community Development Department in the preparation of the inventory; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed <br />Historic Resources and Architectural Inventory on May 14, 2003, duly considered <br />comments received at the hearing, and adopted Resolution No. 2003-09 recommending <br />adoption of the Historic Resources and Architectural Inventory; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council held a public hearing on the proposed Historic <br />Resources and Architectural Inventory on June 19, 2003 and duly considered <br />comments received at the hearing; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Town Council certified a Final Environmental Impact Report on <br />the Historic Preservation Program including the adoption of the Historic Resources and <br /> <br /> <br />
