Town of Truckee <br /> <br />California <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 93-27 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />ADDING CHAPTER 10.17 TO TITLE 10 OF THE TRUCKEE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> RELATING TO SNOW REMOVAL <br /> <br /> The Town Council of the Town of Truckee Does Ordain as Follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Enactment. Title 10 of the Truckee Municipal Code is hereby amended by <br />adding Chapter 10.17 thereto to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 8NOW I MOVAL <br /> <br /> 10.17.010 Declaration of Snow Season. It is necessary and for the health, safety, and <br />welfare of the people of the Town that Town streets and fights-of-way be kept dear of snow and <br />other obstructions during the snow season which is generally from November 1 through April 30 of <br />each year. <br /> <br /> Vehicles parked on the fights-of-way of Town streets during snow season and the processs <br />of snow removal by the Town causes obstruction and impediment to such operations of snow <br />removal resulting in delays, expenses and inconvenience to the Town. <br /> <br /> 10.17.020 Declaration of Snow Conditiops. Whenever there shall be in excess of three (3) <br />inches &snow or ice on any part of a street fight-of-way, snow conditions exist and the provisions <br />of this Chapter shall apply. Wherever possible the traffic engineer shall give notice of such snow <br />conditions by press, radio or television, which news media shall be requested to cooperate with <br />Town officials in the giving of such notice. <br /> <br /> 10.17.090 Parking Prohibited. During the existence of snow conditions, it is unlawful for <br />any person to stop, park, abandon, or otherwise leave unattended any vehicle on any street right-of- <br />way in the Town. This provision shall not prohibit the stopping of passenger vehicles for periods <br />of time sufficient to load or discharge passengers from such vehicles. Where snow conditions no <br />longer exist, parking may be resumed on individual streets where designated parking spaces are <br />provided in commercial areas as soon as snow plowing has been completed on the full width of such <br />streets. <br /> <br /> <br />
