TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> California <br /> 111 RESOLUTION 2016-46 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> AUTHORIZING THE FEDERAL FUNDING UNDER FTA SECTION 5339 BUS AND BUS <br /> FACILITIES PROGRAM WITH CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to <br /> states through the Federal Transit Administration to support projects for small urban and rural <br /> public transportation systems under Section 5339 through the Moving Ahead for Progress in the <br /> 21st Century (MAP 21) and the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act authorized <br /> by 49 U.S.C.; and <br /> WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has been designated by the <br /> Governor of the State of California to administer Section 5339 grants for transportation projects <br /> related to bus and bus facility projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee operates Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit <br /> (TART) that provides fixed route service and paratransit service to seniors and to persons with <br /> disabilities; and <br /> I WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee received an FTA 5339 pre-award authority letter dated <br /> April 15, 2016 from California Department of Transportation authorizing a grant award of <br /> $138,800 to procure a vehicle to replace Town of Truckee's VIN No. 1GBJG316491142738; and <br /> WHEREAS, the FTA 5339 grant award requires a 15 percent local match that will be <br /> funded through PTMISEA Prop 1B funds authorized by Resolution 2013-25; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee desires to procure the replacement vehicle through the <br /> CalAct-MBTA Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative under the MBTA/Creative Bus Sales Contract <br /> No. 15-03 approved by California Department of Transportation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee received a quote from Creative Bus Sales in the <br /> amount of$128,678.35 as the purchase price for the replacement vehicle; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee has, to the maximum extent feasible, coordinated with <br /> other transportation providers and users in the region (including social service agencies). <br /> ****** <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE DOES <br /> RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. That the Town Manager is authorized to execute and file applications on behalf of the Town <br /> of Truckee to aid in the funding of bus and bus facilities projects pursuant to Section 5339 of <br /> MAP 21 and FAST Act authorized by 49 U.S.C. <br />
