TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> California <br /> 111 <br /> RESOLUTION 2016-48 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A FUNDING REQUEST FOR AB 2766 <br /> DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLE SURCHARGE FUNDING THROUGH THE <br /> NORTHERN SIERRA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT TO SUPPORT <br /> HIGHWAY 267 YEAR-ROUND TRANSIT SERVICE <br /> WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Department of Motor <br /> Vehicle Surcharge Program that provides funds to local government agencies, private sector <br /> businesses, non-profit agencies and research institutions to reduce air pollution from motor <br /> vehicles and for related planning, monitoring, enforcement and technical studies necessary to <br /> implement the California Clean Air Act; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District, a unified air pollution <br /> control district formed pursuant to California Health and Safety Code section 40150, et seq. (the <br /> "District") has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the <br /> District, setting up necessary procedures for eligible participants, or their designees under the <br /> programs; and <br /> ' WHEREAS, the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District has released the 2016- <br /> 2017 AB 2766 DMV Surcharge Fund Program Request for Proposals; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee, Placer County, and Truckee Tahoe Airport District <br /> have partnered to provide transit service on a year-round basis on Highway 267 increasing <br /> service from 115 days to 365 days per year; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee and Placer County entered into an agreement on <br /> August 11, 2015 whereby Placer County would operate the year-round service on Highway 267 <br /> and the Town of Truckee would contribute an estimated $62,500 annually for a three-year <br /> project pilot period; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee desires to submit a proposal requesting $195,932 for <br /> operations and marketing to fund year-round service on Hwy 267 over a three-year period in <br /> partnership with Placer County and the Truckee Tahoe Airport District. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE DOES <br /> RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> • <br /> 1. That the Town Manager is authorized to execute and file applications and proposals on <br /> behalf of the Town of Truckee to aid in the funding of year-round service on Highway 267 <br /> through the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District 2016-2017 AB 2766 Request <br /> for Proposals. <br /> _ L <br />
