TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> 111 California <br /> ORDINANCE 2015-11 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> ADDING SECTION 15.02.080 TO THE TRUCKEE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> PERTAINING TO PERMITTING PROCEDURES FOR <br /> SMALL RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP SOLAR SYSTEMS <br /> WHEREAS, Section 65850.5(a) of the California Government Code provides that it is <br /> the policy of the State to promote and encourage the installation and use of solar energy <br /> systems by limiting obstacles to their use and by minimizing the permitting costs of such <br /> systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 65850.5(g) of the California Government Code requires every city <br /> and county in California to adopt, on or before September 30, 2015, an ordinance that creates <br /> an expedited, streamlined permitting process for small residential rooftop solar energy systems; <br /> The Town Council of the Town of Truckee Does Ordain as Follows: <br /> Section 1. Enactment. Chapter 15.02 of Truckee Municipal Code is hereby amended l; <br /> by adding a new Section 15.02.080 to read as follows: <br /> 111 <br /> 15.02.080 Small Residential Rooftop Solar Energy System Review Process <br /> A. The intent of this section is to comply with the requirements of Government Code <br /> Section 65850.5 regarding the establishment of an expedited permitting process for <br /> small residential rooftop solar energy systems. <br /> B. The following words and phrases as used in this section are defined as follows: <br /> "Electronic submittal" means a submittal made by email, the Internet, and/or <br /> facsimile. <br /> "Small residential rooftop solar energy system" means a system that meets all of <br /> the following criteria: <br /> 1. A solar energy system that is no larger than 10 kilowatts alternating current <br /> nameplate rating or 30 kilowatts thermal. <br /> 2. A solar energy system that conforms to all applicable state fire, structural, <br /> electrical, and other building codes as adopted or amended by the Town, and <br /> paragraph (iii) of subdivision (c) of Section 714 of the Civil Code, as such section <br /> or subdivision may be amended, renumbered, or redesignated from time to time. <br /> 3. A solar energy system that is installed on a single or duplex family dwelling. <br />
