CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Barr called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — led by Lynn Saunders. <br />14. PUBLIC COMMENT — none. <br />5. PRESENTATIONS <br />5.1 Christina Earnhardt, Administrative Services Manager, introduction of <br />promotions: Nicole Casey, Accountant 11, Paula Maiwald, Senior Accountant. <br />Johnny Goetz, Chief Building Official, introduced the promotion of Rosie <br />Johnson, Development Services Technician. <br />Becky Bucar, Engineering Manager, introduction of new Engineering Technician, <br />Sarah Kunnen. <br />5.2 Curbside Collection of Residential Yard Waste Update, by Nichole Dorr, <br />Administrative Analyst II; (presentation on file with the Town Clerk). <br />In response to Council Questions: <br />o Representatives from the garbage company stated it is not efficient to <br />operate both programs at the same time. Different trucks are used for the <br />two different programs and less cost to empty the carts at the transfer <br />station (tipping costs). <br />• Cart drop off and pickup. The commitment for the cart is for an entire season. <br />• There is a reduction in size, one cart is three bags. Can Town step up to weekly <br />collection? <br />• Tahoe Donner residents "great green walls": <br />o Can Town charge extra and hall them all at the same time? <br />' o Staff has discussed a premium charge for additional bags. <br />o Pay as you throw program — every bag is charged a $.50 fee. <br />o But this means no reduction in plastics or in cost. <br />Town of Truckee <br />March 26, 2015, Town Council Regular Meeting <br />Page 1 <br />
