Town of Truckee <br />TOWN COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING <br /> May 16, 1996, 6:00 P.M. <br /> Truckee Donner Public Utility District Board Room <br /> 11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER. Mayor McCormack called the meeting to order ~it 6:02 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL Councilmembers Carpenter, Cross, Drake, Eagan and Mayor McCormack <br />being present. Also present were Town Manager Stephen L. Wright, Town Attorney Dennis <br />Crabb, Community Development Director Tony Lashbrook, Town Engineer Jon Lander, <br />Public Works Director Tom Covey, Finance Director Jill Fox, Planning Associate Duane <br />Hall and Executive Secretary Barbara Johnson. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Kay Williams. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT. None. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />5.1 Public Works Department Update by Public Works Director Tom Covey. <br /> Public Works Director Tom Covey the Town of Truckee Public Works Department <br /> will be in attendance at the upcoming Truckee Home Show. The Department will <br /> be displaying recently purchased equipment with the equipment inherited by Nevada <br /> County to enable the public to compare them. Director Covey discussed winter and <br /> summer operations of the Department. <br /> <br />The Public Works Department was currently in the process of repainting the roads, <br />patching roadways and cleaning culverts. Public Works Superintendent Eric Schafer, <br />Mechanic Chuck Reed and Director Covey were close to completing a Public Works <br />Equipment Plan. The Department recently received the new snow plow which will <br />move 3,500 tons of snow per hour and blow the snow up to 150 feet. <br /> <br />Public Works Department was working on a Pavement Management System. In <br />doing so, the Department was rating culverts, pavement and conducting a street sign <br />inventory as well. Director Covey showed examples of forms being used for <br />reviewing these items. <br /> <br />At this time Cotmcilmember Drake read the Public Works Week Proclamation per <br /> <br />Town Council Minutes <br /> Page I <br /> <br /> <br />
