Town of Truckee <br /> TOWN COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> June 20, 1996, 6:00 P.M. <br />Truckee Donner Public Utility District Board Room <br />11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER. Mayor McCormack called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL. Town Manager Wright called the roll with Council Members Carpenter, <br />Cross, Drake, Eagan, and Mayor McCormack being present. Also present were Town <br />Manager Steve Wright, Town Attorney Dennis Crabb, Town Engineer Jon Lander, <br />Community Development Director Tony Lashbrook, Associate Planner Duane Hall, Public <br />Works Director Tom Covey, Finance Director Jill Fox, Police Chief Jack Bayer, Dan Olsen, <br />Animal Control Supervisor, and Staff Assistant Jim Smith. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Kevin McCall. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT. John Kaser, resident of the north side of Donne~ Lake, commented <br />about the removal of trash bins at the Donner Lake boat ramp and across from Denton <br />Avenue. He stated the current bins are private and the users are locking them to prevent <br />public use. Mr. Kaset requested the Town to put the bins back on public land, and/or find <br />a way to charge a fee to Placer County residents or the public for use of the trash bins. Town <br />Engineer Jun Lander pointed out that the Town received removal requests fi:om the Truckee- <br />Donner Recreation & Park District, the Nevada County Environmental Health Department <br />due to overflow usage, unsightly conditions, and concerns about toxic materials being <br />deposited in or near the bins which could eventually filter into the ground water. Mr. Lander <br />said he is willing to meet with various resident associations at Donner Lake to arrange for <br />trash receptacles. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS. <br />5.1 Proclamation for S.F. Giants Day. Brent Collinson stated 1996 will mark the third <br /> year that he has organized the community event which is jointly sponsored by the <br /> Town, Truckee Rotary, Tahoe Instant Press, OB's Pub & Restaurant and the <br /> Recreation & Park District. The Council acted 4-0-1 to authorize the issuance of the <br /> Town Proclamation proclaiming June 20, 1996 as San Francisco Giants Day upon <br /> a motion made by Councilmember Carpenter, seconded b.y Couneilmember <br /> Eagan. Councilmember Cross abstained due to the Giants' treatment of fans last year <br /> during the shut-down of the national past time. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />6.1 Minutes of May 2, 1996, Special Council Meeting -- approved. <br />6.2 Minutes of May 16, 1996, Regular Council Meeting -- approved. <br />6.3 Treasurer's Report of May, 1996 -- approved. <br />6.4 Portola Animal Control Contract -- approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
