TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />California <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 57 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, voters of the Town of Truckee will vote on Measure C at the <br />November 2002 election: and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Measure C is of great significance to the future of the Town of <br />Truckee and its citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the course of fully informing themselves concerning Measure C, <br />the voters should be aware of the position(s) of their locally elected officials: and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 19, 2002 the Town Council conducted a public <br />discussion on Measure C and heard the views of Town citizens both in favor of and <br />opposed to Measure C; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after deliberation and discussion the Town Council has decided to <br />take a position with regard to Measure C; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE <br />TOWN OF TRUCKEE as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. In the last election on this issue over 75% of the citizens of Nevada County <br />supported the Measure. <br /> <br /> 2. Since the last election the local provision of library services has shown a <br />dramatically increased availability to Truckee citizens. <br /> <br /> 3. The greater Truckee and Nevada County community is strengthened when all <br />citizens have opportunity and equal access to information and enrichment. <br /> <br />In recognition of the foregoing findings, the Town Council hereby expresses its support <br />for the passage of Measure C and encourages the voters of Truckee to inform <br />themselves fully before casting their ballot. <br /> <br /> The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee <br />Town Council, held on the 17 day of October, 2002 and adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES:Councilmembers Susman, Schneider, McCormack, Owens and Mayor <br /> <br /> Florian. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Pa~ Osborne, CMC, Town Clerk <br /> <br />Ronald J.
