Landry, Senior Engineer SUBJECT : Notice of Completion with Sierra Ne da Con truction, Inc. for the Glenshire Drive Bike Lane , Phase 1 oject IP 60- 11 -05 APPROVED BY: Ton brook, Town Manager RECOMMENDATION : Authorize the Public Works Director/Town Engineer to file a Notice of Completion with Sierra Nevada Construction , Inc. for the Glenshire Drive Bike Lane , Phase 1 Project (CIP 60- 11 -05) for a total construction contract cost of $2 , 583 , 917 . DISCUSSION : The Glenshire Drive Bike Lane , Phase 1 Project (CIP 60- 11 -05) is complete and the Public Works Director/Town Engineer recommends acceptance of the project. On June 11 , 2013 , the Town Council authorized a construction contract with SNC , Inc. in the amount of $2 ,286 , 007 with a $228 , 601 ( 10%) contingency for a total authorized construction budget of $2 , 514 ,608 . The project was completed in October 2013 , $69 , 309 (2 . 8%) over the authorized amount, for a total construction amount of $2 , 583 , 917 . However, this project would have been completed within the authorized construction amount had it not been for approximately $83 , 128 in additional utility related expenditures performed at the request of the local utility providersthat will be reimbursed to the Town (i . e . , the project would have been completed for a total amount of $2 , 500 , 789) . In addition to the increased utility expenditures , $214 , 782 of contingency funds were expended on a combination of additional rock slope protection required to prevent erosion , additional height and length of rock wall , additional guardrail installation , and additional potholing to locate existing utilities prior to excavation . FISCAL IMPACT : This construction contract was awarded , completed and paid for in fiscal year 2013/2014 .
