<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />California <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2008-63 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />ADOPTING A CATEGORY 0 ("NONESSENTIAL") HISTORIC RATING FOR THE <br />TWO SHEDS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF TROUT CREEK ROAD EAST OF <br />DONNER PASS ROAD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee hired Kautz Environmental Consultants to survey all <br />buildings and structures in the Downtown area that were older than 50 years (pre-1955) and to <br />prepare a historic and architectural resources inventory of the buildings and structures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee Town Council adopted the Truckee Historic Resources <br />and Architectural Inventory prepared by Kautz Environmental Consultants on June 19, 2003 by <br />Resolution 2003-18; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Truckee Historic Resources and Architectural Inventory surveyed the <br />property located at 10310 Trout Creek Road (APN: 19-030-05) and adopted a Category B for <br />the western residential building and a Category A for the eastern residential building; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the inventory adopted for the residential buildings did not specifically <br />address the historic designation of the ancillary sheds located in APN 19-030-14; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee requested a historic rating for the two sheds that are <br />separate from the main residence located at th~'northeast corner of the property in accordance <br />with Volume 1, Section 6,0 of the Truckee I:list()ri'c Resources and Architectural Inventory; and <br />,. . I. <br /> <br />, <br />WHEREAS, Kautz Environmental Consultants was hired by the Town of Truckee to <br />conduct an historic evaluation of the two:sheds submitted on May 26, 2008 and recommended <br />to adopt a Category D ("Nonessential") rating for the structures; and <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Truckee' Historic Preservation Advisory Commission reviewed the <br />Kautz historic evaluation on July, 23, 2008 and forwarded a r,ecommendation to the Town <br />Council'to adopt a Category C ("Supporting") historic rating for the garage/outbuilding with <br />findings in support of the recommendation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the adoption of a Category D historic rating would allow the removal of the <br />sheds, thereby allowing the Town to acquire the Trout Creek Road right of way and improve <br />Trout Creek to a more natural state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council is responsible for adopting a numbered resolution for the <br />designation of an individual historic resource; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public notice was published in the Sierra Sun and mailed to property <br />owners within 300 feet of the project site informing the public on the project, in addition to the <br />"date, time, and location of the public hearing for the consideration of the application; and <br />
