<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />California <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008-54 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE <br />ADOPTING A CATEGORY D ("NONESSENTIAL") HISTORIC RATING FOR THE <br />BENDER GARAGE/OUTBUILDING (APPLICATION NO.08-019/HDR) <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee hired Kautz Environmental Consultants to survey all <br />buildings and structures in the Downtown area that were older than 50 years (pre-1955) and to <br />prepare a historic and architectural resources inventory of the buildings and structures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee Town Council adopted the Truckee Historic Resources <br />and Architectural Inventory prepared by Kautz Environmental Consultants on June 19, 2003 by <br />Resolution 2003-18; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Truckee Historic Resources and Architectural Inventory surveyed the <br />property located at 10037 East River Street (APN: 19-151-06) and adopted a Category B <br />("contributing") historic rating for the property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the inventory adopted for the property did not specifically address the <br />historic designation of the garage/outbuilding located at the southwest corner of the property; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property owner submitted an application to request a historic rating for <br />the garage/outbuilding separate from the main residence located at the northeast corner of the <br />property in accordance with Volume 1, Section 6.0 of the Truckee Historic Resources and <br />Architectural Inventory; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kautz Environmental Consultants was hired by the Town of Truckee to <br />conduct an historic inventory of the garage/outbuilding submitted on June 27, 2008 and <br />recommended to adopt a Category 0 ("Nonessential") rating for the structure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Truckee Historic Preservation Advisory Commission reviewed the <br />application on May 28, 2008 and the Kautz historic inventory on July 9, 2008 and forwarded a <br />recommendation to the Town Council to adopt a Category C ("Supporting") historic rating for the <br />garage/outbuilding with findings in support of the recommendation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council is responsible for adopting a numbered resolution for the <br />designation of an individual historic resource; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the project has been determined to be exempt pursuant to Section <br />15061 (b)(3) of the California Environmental Quality Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public notice was published in the Sierra Sun and mailed to property <br />owners within 300 feet of the project site informing the public on the project, in addition to the <br />date, time, and location of the public hearing for the consideration of the application; and <br />
