WORKSHOP ITEM. <br />5.1 Review purpose of program <br />• The group reviewed the purpose of the tail amenity program. <br />5.2 Discussion: . <br />• Amenities <br />o Amenity Program should generate funds for trails <br />o Most programs pay for amenities <br />Plaques <br />o Text should be small and unobtrusive <br />o "In memory of plaques vs. advertisements <br />o Taxpayers paid for the trail, so it should be clear that people <br />only sponsored the amenities <br />o Put plaques on rock walls vs. etched in the rock <br />o Plaque garden, should be accessible <br />o Need rules about no plastic flowers or other memorial items be <br />placed at or near adopted amenity or plaque garden. <br />o Existing examples in town — Legacy Foundation bricks on <br />Brockway, Truckee Jail, Hospital <br />Costs (replacement plus %) <br />Damaged/destroyed amenity <br />o Some programs offer a one-time replacement but donor must <br />fund replacement after that <br />Adoption <br />o Permanent adoption vs. 10 years with option of renewal <br />5.3 Adoption Agreement -- additional components? <br />5.4 Next steps <br />0 Allison Pedley will develop draft plan to be reviewed by the group. <br />
