57 Measure CTOWN OF TRUCKEE California RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 57 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE WHEREAS, voters of the Town of Truckee will vote on Measure C at the November 2002 election: and WHEREAS, Measure C is of great significance to the future of the Town of Truckee and its citizens; and WHEREAS, in the course of fully informing themselves concerning Measure C, the voters should be aware of the position(s) of their locally elected officials: and WHEREAS, on October 19, 2002 the Town Council conducted a public discussion on Measure C and heard the views of Town citizens both in favor of and opposed to Measure C; and WHEREAS, after deliberation and discussion the Town Council has decided to take a position with regard to Measure C; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE as follows: 1. In the last election on this issue over 75% of the citizens of Nevada County supported the Measure. 2. Since the last election the local provision of library services has shown a dramatically increased availability to Truckee citizens. 3. The greater Truckee and Nevada County community is strengthened when all citizens have opportunity and equal access to information and enrichment. In recognition of the foregoing findings, the Town Council hereby expresses its support for the passage of Measure C and encourages the voters of Truckee to inform themselves fully before casting their ballot. The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council, held on the 17 day of October, 2002 and adopted by the following vote: AYES:Councilmembers Susman, Schneider, McCormack, Owens and Mayor Florian.
